The complex located in Taif will house a 10-screen Muvi cinema complex with 783 seats available for guests to enjoy both regional and international releases.
The move comes as part of the roll-out of the Muvi brand in Saudi Arabia, for which Chapman Taylor was engaged to design and deliver a series of state-of-the-art cinemas for the brand in 2019. Muvi Cinemas, which is the first Saudi-owned cinema chain, then opened its first location in August 2019 at The Mall of Arabia. Further locations have since opened, including at Mall of Dhahran, which is currently the largest cinema in the country by seat count.
The designs for the cinema venues have a theme of urban downtown, creating a dynamic, modern and innovative cinema experience for guests. Internal spaces have been characterised by an industrial yet luxurious material palette with timber, exposed steelwork, exposed brickwork and an exposed concrete floor.
Chapman Taylor says in a release: “We strive to design the best cinematic experience available, combining state-of-the-art technology with simplified functionality to create maximum value for both clients and cinemagoers.”
