The brand has celebrated opening its first permanent store on South Molton Street, London, during London Fashion Week.
To mark the occasion, Merabi invited press to an intimate evening hosted by herself and special guest, Heptathlon World Champion, Katarina Johnson -Thompson.
In November 2023, MERABI decided to test the waters by opening a pop-up in London. Due to the huge success of the South Molton pop-up, they have returned to the capital with a permanent store, just in time for party season (aka MERABI season). The flagship store allows customers the opportunity to see and experience the quality, craftsmanship and the MERABI brand first hand.
Two-time world champion and 2024 Olympic silver medallist Katarina Johnson-Thompson joined Merabi to discuss their shared experiences growing up in the North and dominating in their respective fields. During the fireside talk, Merabi and Johnson-Thompson bonded over the influence of family on the character traits that have made them so successful and the ‘toughness’ they joked is conferred by their Northern roots, receiving applause even from the London crowd.
The conversation naturally turned to Johnson-Thompson’s momentous Olympic summer and the adversity she overcame even to get onto the start line in Paris. With a chance to celebrate the summer, Johnson-Thompson mentioned that MERABI has always been “the first thing I go to” when picking an outfit away from the TeamGB tracksuit, particularly appropriate as the night ended with MERABI unveiling the new AW24 collection.
