The National Football League and Fanatics, a global digital sports platform and leader in licensed sports merchandise, have announced they will open six retail outlets for fans across Brazil in the coming weeks in preparation for the first-ever regular season NFL game in São Paulo. The Green Bay Packers will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept 6, at 9:15 p.m. BRT at Corinthians Arena.
In the lead-up to the inaugural NFL game in Brazil, the NFL and Fanatics will open and operate the pop-up retail outlets across the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. For the game itself, Fanatics will also operate five shops at Corinthians Arena, including a 1,000 square meter superstore, presented by Visa, and a purpose-built retail outlet at the NFL Experience — a fan festival from Friday, Sept. 6 – Sunday, Sept. 8 at Parque Villa Lobos in São Paulo.
The NFL has more than 35 million fans in Brazil — the third largest NFL fandom, behind the U.S. and Mexico. Fans across Brazil will have access to a wide assortment of officially licensed NFL merchandise, including official team jerseys, New Era Caps, hard goods, exclusive collaborations and limited-edition gameday collections.
These six retail outlets, built to serve fans of the NFL across shopping malls and airports, reflect the NFL’s and Fanatics’ shared commitment to growing the sport across the world, ensuring all can showcase their fandom and enjoy the game.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Fanatics to bring six NFL Shop stores to our more than 35 million fans in key cities across Brazil,” said Salha Latif, vice president, international consumer products at the NFL. “As the first-ever NFL game in South America, we’re looking forward to offering a wide range of merchandise across stores, allowing fans to showcase their passion for the sport in both lead up to and long after the game in September.”
“The NFL’s first-ever regular season game played in Brazil is a historic event, and we are delighted to mark this seismic occasion for fans by bringing them a next-level retail experience across six stores in the country,” said Pierre Leclerc, retail director at Fanatics. “We are committed to enhancing the NFL fan experience and making NFL merchandise more accessible for all, no matter where you may be in the world.”
To support the upcoming retail launch, Fanatics and the NFL are working closely with Brazilian brand and licensing specialist One Projetos, leveraging their local expertise to provide the best experience for NFL fans across Brazil.
