The giga-project in Saudi Arabia has announced US technology and infrastructure firm Parsons as a new partner for The Line.
The Line project forms part of the overall NEOM project, one of the giga-projects in Saudi Arabia. The ambitious plan intends to build the ‘land of the future’ in the northwest region of the country.
Upon completion, The Line will be a sustainable urban living environment designed to have no cars, no roads, no carbon emissions, and to operate 100 per cent clean energy. The Line will be 170km long, 200 metres wide and 500 metres tall, and it is considered to be one of the most ambitious and complex infrastructure projects in the world.
As a deliver partner for the project, Parsons will be responsible for overcoming issues such as outdates infrastructure, pollution, traffic and human congestion that usually impacts cities.
