Shaftesbury Capital has announced that pioneering coffee brand, Nespresso, is to launch a new location in Covent Garden.
Situated in a historic building on the corner of the Piazza and Henrietta Street, Nespresso will deliver an immersive, ‘home away from home’ experience in one of the destination’s anchor units. The signing of the globally recognised brand reinforces Covent Garden’s position as the go-to destination for internationally renowned names to open flagship concept stores.
Nespresso’s new West End boutique follows the closure of the Regent Street store at the end of 2024. The new, light and bright space will open at 34 Henrietta Street in spring next year, delivering an intimate discovery experience for coffee aficionados across 1,345sq ft. Customers will be able to discover the wide variety of Nespresso tastes and flavours and browse the latest selection of coffee products, including capsules, machines and accessories. The boutique will feature a dedicated space for highlighting Nespresso’s sustainability progress, as well as a place to drop their capsules for recycling. The leading global coffee brand will celebrate the distinctive features of the historic building to create a bespoke and immersive boutique, reflecting Nespresso’s core values.
This latest signing exemplifies Shaftesbury Capital’s commitment to future-proofing the district’s historic buildings, attracting world-class brands in key neighbourhood locations. Nespresso joins several global brands that have chosen Covent Garden for anchor locations, including tech giant, Apple, cult beauty brand, Glossier and luxury activewear brand, Alo Yoga.
William Oliver, Retail Leasing Director at Shaftesbury Capital, commented: “As the UK’s leading destination for flagship locations from world-class brands, Nespresso’s commitment to open a new anchor store in Covent Garden is an ideal fit. Nespresso will add to the Piazza and wider neighbourhood’s already extensive backdrop of innovative lifestyle brands and undertake significant investment in one of Covent Garden’s many historic buildings, revitalising a key corner right in the heart of the destination.”
