Nando’s first ever restaurant in the UAE, or casa, as they are known, has a fresh new look.

The outlet on Sheikh Zayed Road is where it all started for the flame-grilled chicken company back in 2002. Managing director George Kunnappally said the location “holds a special place in our heart”.

“Our central support offices are also in the same building (Saeed Tower 2),” explained Kunnappally. “All of us in the central support team have lunch together almost every day at the Sheikh Zayed Road casa. Being so sentimental to the brand and used by many peri-peri lovers in Dubai, it was time for a makeover.”

Much like Nando’s cuisine, its casas are inspired by the company’s South African roots. “The use of bold colour, real and natural materials and vibrant patterning is a key ingredient of our design philosophy. This is how we bring that Southern African energy and feast for the eyes in to our casas in the region. In challenging times like these and with a challenging space to design, we’re very proud of what we have achieved with this one,” said Kunnappally.
