High street store New Look is to open a new 5,244sq ft store in Barnsley. The fashion favourite will be opening a new store in The Glass Works in July.
Fit-out work has already started and New Look says the new, brighter and modern store allows the best shopper experience possible for the people of Barnsley. The announcement comes hot on the heels of a string of leasing announcements which brings major brands including Fridays, Flannels, River Island, Cineworld, Nando’s and The Botanist, to the town.
The Glass Works, Barnsley’s newest development and public space in the town centre, was unveiled in September 2021 as an exciting new location for retail, leisure, learning and food and drink. A new public square that connects The Glass Works with the transport interchange and the wider town centre is now buzzing with activity.
New Look has operated from Cheapside in recent years but took the opportunity to move to new premises in The Glass Works when its lease came up for renewal. Superdrug are still retailing from their Cheapside store and continuing business as usual.
