A franchise agreement has been penned between Ovidiu Budeanu, a Romanian entrepreneur and French hotel group Accor that will see a four-star Mercure Hotel launch in Bacău, according to profit.ro.
The upcoming site will feature 80 rooms and come at a cost of €7M. Three conference rooms and a ballroom for special events will also be included in the project.
Set to be positioned near the Arena Mall Bacău, the new project will be set over a leasable area of 24,600sq m. This will then be extended by a further 14,600sq m after an investment of €30M.
With this new hotel, Accor will be operating a network of seven Mercure hotels in Romania and in the coming two years they are aiming to open three more hotels.
