New Spanish Restaurant Opens in Barsha South

The restaurant is called Quiero, which is Spanish for ‘I want’ and is the brainchild of Anisia Pienaar.

With a goal of wanting to share traditional Spanish flavours with the rest of the world, Quiero offers a menu of authentically cooked food that is prepared by Pienaar’s own mother – Mary, who is the head chef of the restaurant. The open kitchen allows customers see ‘Mama Mary’ as she is fondly called in action preparing meals.

The restaurant boasts a quaint and cosy design that intends to reflect the Southern Coast of Spain and in particular, Andalusia. A simple yet homely design with images of Spanish locations projected onto large screens complete the restaurant, transporting visitors to the Mediterranean country.

Quiero boasts a full menu where customers can enjoy breakfast, light snacks, lunch, dinner and desserts. Breakfast items include creamy scrambled eggs with garlic mushrooms, pastries of the day and a typical Spanish dish of toasted bread with olive oil and salt. For those looking for a light snack, there’s Spanish sandwiches known as Bocadillos or pastries and coffee. Meanwhile, for lunch and dinner there’s a menu of tapas, salads and paella, which is cooked with either chicken, seafood or vegetables.

The new restaurant is open seven days a week from 8am to 10pm.
