Next wave of stores requiring masks named

Three additional big retailers have had their say on the face mask issue in the retail sector in the US.

The Home Depot, Lowe’s Companies and Rite Aid joined the fast-growing list of companies requiring customers to wear masks or face cove rings while inside their stores. The Home Depot’s policy is effective Wednesday 22 July. Lowe’s policy starts today, 20 July, while Rite Aid’s starts on Tuesday 31 July.

To help remind customers about these new requirements, The Home Depot will post signs at all store entrances and via audio announcements on store PA systems. Lowe’s said it will offer free masks at the customer service desk of every store for customers who need them, while supplies last. Rite Aid said it will provide a face covering free of charge if a customer does not have one.

“Out of an abundance of caution for their safety, associates will not be asked to enforce requirements, but will be supported by signage and in-store announcements,” Rite Aid stated.
