Nichi to Open its Doors in October

Trafford Centre, the world-leading retail and leisure destination, has announced the opening of Nichi, a Japanese dining experience with a Peruvian twist, this October in a new 3,000sq ft location.

Nichi’s new flagship restaurant at Trafford Centre will offer a premium, immersive dining experience, allowing diners to indulge in a wide variety of Japanese delicacies paired with an extensive selection of fine wines and sakes, including sushi, ceviche, robata sticks, wagyu, tableside flambé and an all-day omakase menu. For those in a rush, bento boxes will be sold at lunchtime.

The homegrown Mancunian brand will be led by a seasoned team, with Head Chef, Kentaro Yanagisawa, coming from renowned restaurants Sexyfish and Nobu and Nichi’s Managing Partner coming from Zuma. As Nichi’s first ever restaurant, diners can expect a resident DJ on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Nichi will form part of Trafford Centre’s new look dining area in the Upper Orient. Designed to blend both a traditional and contemporary Asian aesthetic, this dynamic and inviting space compliments Trafford Centre’s premium retail offering.

To celebrate the opening of the restaurant, Nichi will have special live performance acts alongside famous faces invited to sample a variety of dishes throughout the day. All reservations made within the first five days have the chance to win a spectacular giveaway of flights to Japan and dining vouchers.

Kitty Vaughan, Head of UK Leisure and F&B Leasing at Pradera Lateral, said: “Trafford Centre is committed to creating a destination that embodies the best of Manchester, from retail to dining. By partnering with exceptional Mancunian brands like Nichi, we’re not just adding to our dining options—we’re elevating the entire experience for our visitors, celebrating the innovation and quality that can be found right here in our city.”
