North American Properties Acquires The Avenue East Cobb

The company has plans to elevate its guest services, events and restaurants to the level it provides at other Georgia properties like Avalon and Atlantic Station.

The property has been bought for an undisclosed sum from Poag Shopping Centers, which last year saw The Avenue East Cobb named one of the “Top 10 Comeback Centers” by Chain Store Age.

These renovation plans will be phased in at the 230,000sq ft centre and guests can expect such improvements as the addition of a central lawn surrounded by chef-driven restaurants with patio spaces, a concierge program to aid guests’ shopping and parking, and an expanded events line-up.

“Lifestyle centres like The Avenue East Cobb were designed to fill gaps in the market – the retail deserts between regional malls – by providing outdoor shopping for the community,” said North American Properties (NAP) Managing Partner Tim Perry. “As these communities have matured around them, they became the centre of the community and while The Avenue East Cobb has remained a high-performing asset over the years, NAP sees an opportunity to elevate the destination into a true third place with a modern mix of retailers and restaurants.”
