The company has purchased the mixed-use centre in Charlotte with the intention of creating an entirely new experience.
North American Properties (NAP) will work with a number of companies to redevelop the centre. In-house leasing strategists Adam Schwegman has been assigned and Molly Morgan will work with Legacy Real Estate Advisors on a new layout and tenant curation for the 250,000sq ft retail centre.
It is expected that Birkdale Village will consist of smaller-format stores, new restaurants and reimagined green spaces following the redevelopment process. The centre is also expected to host a number of events with the new leasing team teasing that over 100 events a year will be held at the centre.
Legacy Real Estate Principal Adam Williams, commented: “Birkdale Village already has incredible bones and infrastructure. The vision NAP is bringing to the table, will position it to be a modern and vibrant retail destination for decades to come.”
