Opening Date Set for World’s Largest Ikea

Ikea Pasay City in Manila, set to become the world’s largest Ikea store, is set to open its doors to the public this month after being delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 67,760sq m store is located next to the Mall of Asia and spans five storeys with two floors dedicated to retail activities and the remaining floors earmarked for stocks and e-commerce operations.

The new store will be home to more than 8,000 home furnishing and appliance products as well as an Ikea restaurant where customers will be able to order the brand’s famous Swedish meatballs. Ikea Philippines’ online store launched earlier this month for delivery orders following a soft launch in September.

Ikea Pasay City is the chain’s first location in the Philippines and it will open its doors to guests on November 25. The launch of the store was announced in 2018 and was initially due to open last year. The construction of the store was interrupted last year due to the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic.
