Osborne & Co to Transform Met Tower

The £100M transformation will see the 11-storey tower converted into a 260-bed hotel with grade A office facilities.

Situated on North Hanover Street in Glasgow, the Met Tower was opened in 1964. Glasgow City Council has now granted permission for the developer Osborne & Co to transform this iconic building into a new hotel for the city.

The redevelopment project will see the formation of around 25,000sq ft of leisure and food and drink space along with a double-height auditorium that can be utilised as a market hall with co-working space or meeting rooms and conference facilities.

Will Hean, Development director at Osborne & Co, commented: “Achieving planning consent comes at a critical time in the real estate market which continues to be challenged because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Despite this, we are committed to investing significantly in Glasgow as we recognised the strength and diversity of the Glasgow economy.”
