The Japanese company has set up a furniture store on the e-commerce site.
Following an influx of home and lifestyle brands joining the online platform, JD.com has commented that it is committed to providing consumers with high-quality one-stop home decoration solutions. Customers have been able to purchase a selection of Panasonic products on JD.com since 2013 but this is the first time that furniture will be available via the platform.
The launch of the new furniture store saw customers able to utilise special discounts as part of JD.com’s Super Brand Day program which was a key initiative in increasing brand awareness and sales in China.
Hailong Jin, Director of the Housing System Business Unit of Panasonic China & Northeast Asia has commented on the new launch, “We are optimistic about the huge potential of development opportunities in China. Panasonic’s target customers are a close match with JD.com. With the opening of our custom home furniture store, we will provide one-stop home decoration solutions that can better meet the needs of middle and high-end customers.”
