St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, and Picturehouse Cinemas, have confirmed plans to open its eight-screen cinema in Ealing on 20th October. Located at Filmworks, an art-deco inspired residential, leisure and hospitality destination by St George, the cinema is the largest Picturehouse outside of London’s West End, with over 900 seats and a café, bar and restaurant.
Ealing Picturehouse has a Founder Membership which is currently on sale and the first 1,000 customers who purchase an annual Membership for the new cinema will see their names engraved in the building on a specially commissioned Founder Members’ Wall. The Membership will also include 15 months for the price of 12, from when the cinema opens its doors.
The Picturehouse forms part of a growing leisure and hospitality offering at Filmworks, and joins entertainment venue and arcade Boom Battle Bar, artisan coffee shop Black Sheep Coffee, neighbourhood bar Teatro Hall, award-winning ramen restaurant Kanada-Ya and fried buttermilk chicken specialists Butchies. Destination restaurant Bobo Social is also set to welcome customers later this year.

In homage to the history of the site, the restoration of Filmworks sensitively integrates many of the cinema’s original features with art deco and 1920s features throughout. Due care was taken to carefully repair the art deco frontage of the residential scheme, which was originally designed by John Stanley Beard, an English architect known for designing cinemas in and around London. This included restoring the eight iconic colonnades to create a grand entrance. No detail too small, the Concierge at Bogart House also features one of the original chandeliers from the Forum Theatre, which has been restored to its former glory.

There are 209-homes located within the new development being delivered by St George, which have all sold.
