Pinewood Group can progress with plans to develop the £500m Screen Hub UK, situated adjacent to Pinewood Studios.
Pinewood Group’s planning application for the expansion of the Pinewood Studios site, which includes a film-inspired visitor attraction, has been approved by Buckinghamshire Council. The development will expand the existing facility, increasing capacity for film production in the UK. The project is expected to boost the UK economy by £355M annually and create more than 3,500 jobs.
The proposed development includes sound stages, a skills and training hub to be operated by the National Film and Television School, a business growth hub, and a film-themed visitor attraction called Pinewood Studio Experience. Additionally, Pinewood Group plans to extensively enhance the ecology and biodiversity of the area surrounding the development in Buckinghamshire, England.
“We are delighted by this outcome,” said Paul Golding, Chairman of Pinewood Group. “The decision allows us to continue our ongoing investment in the studios and support for the UK film and television industries.”
“Importantly, we now have the opportunity of creating a world-class training centre and film-inspired visitor attraction, bringing considerable benefits to the community of Buckinghamshire and the UK economy,” Golding added.
