Pomelo Releases Staff Members

The Bangkok-based start-up has had to relieve 55 members of staff from their position, which amounts to around eight per cent of its workforce.

The company has announced the move as a way streamlining its current processes to help it move toward more sustainable growth. Despite the loss of staff, the business remains in the midst of raising external capital and has been in touch with banks including Morgan Stanley to help with this effort.

Back in August, Pomelo raised around $10M from their current investors including Jungle Ventures, regulatory filings showed, and they have also raised at least $83M from investors including JD.com Inc. and Provident Growth Fund.
