Popeyes® UK, have opened the doors (and lanes) to its latest Drive-Thru restaurant in West Yorkshire, with over 100 people queueing for the official opening to get hold of the chicken sandwich that broke the internet.
The Drive-Thru officially opened at 11am on Monday 28th October on Plantation Way in Gildersome, with the launch seeing customers queue around the block.
In true Popeyes® UK fashion, the brand brought its signature New Orleans energy and hospitality, treating chicken fans to hundreds of free Chicken Sandwiches, plus limited-edition, car-themed Popeyes® UK merchandise which was given to those who attended the launch.
Vijay and Usman, locals from Gildersome, were the first customers through the Drive-Thru lane after queuing for the viral Chicken Sandwich. Vijay commented: “I first tried Popeyes in Wakefield and the Chicken was really juicy and succulent, so I knew I had to come down and try it when I saw it was opening so close to home.”
While Usman added: “I visited Popeyes in Meadowhall and my kids love it, the menu is great value and the Spicy Chicken Sandwich is next level. When I saw Popeyes was opening closer to home, I knew I had to pop down.”
For those who missed the Gildersome launch day, the brand is extending its generosity with a brand-new giveaway and the chance to also win free Chicken Sandwiches for a year. Each day between Tuesday 29th October and Sunday 3rd November, one lucky customer will find a golden-wrapped Chicken Sandwich at random, also earning them the coveted prize.
