The internationally-recognised food-to-go chain will sell frozen croissants in Tesco stores after agreeing the deal.
The deal will initially see frozen Pret A Manger croissants for at home baking available across 700 Tesco stores. According to Pret A Manger Managing Director Clare Clough, the sale of dressings and sauces are currently under consideration for sale in the future.
Owned by JAB Holdings, a German Investment Group , Pret A Manger coffee is already sold through Amazon, Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose and this latest deal with Tesco comes in Pret A Manger’s effort to adapt to the new normal and counteract the effects of the lockdown which has seen a shift in working patterns and a wave of store closures.
Last September, Pret A Manger launched a drinks subscription service which allows enrolled customers to have barista-prepared drinks up to five times a day for £20 per month.
