Primark Enters 14th Market

The fashion brand has opened the doors to its first ever Czech Republic store, marking its 14th market and 396th store.

Located on Prague’s Wenceslas Square, the new store spans an area of 49,800sq ft across three floors and has created more than 300 jobs for the local area. The store offers a range of fashion, homeware, childrenswear and beauty products.

The new Prague store is a significant milestone in Primark’s Central Eastern Europe expansion, joining the brand’s existing Ljubljana store in Slovenia and Warsaw and Poznan in Poland. The brand has also recently signed a lease to open its first store in Slovakia and announced additional stores for the Polish market in Krakow and Katowice as well as a second store in the Czech Republic in Brno.

Primark Chief Executive, Paul Marchant, commented: “We are so excited to finally bring Primark to the Czech Republic and what better place to do this than in the heart of Prague. This is another important market for us as we continue our expansion into Central and Eastern Europe and build our pipeline of new stores across the region.”
