Primark Eyes 60 US Sites by 2026

The value-priced fashion and home goods retailer, which is owned by Associated British Foods, will open a 36,000sq ft store at Arundel Mills in Hanover, Maryland on 7 September.

It will be Primark’s first location in Maryland. Another DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia) location is set to open in 2024, at Tyson’s Corner Center in Northern Virginia. In May, the company revealed plans to open three U.S. stores this summer.

The opening at Arundel Mills will bring Primark to 430 stores globally, with 21 in the US. The retailer is looking to reach 60 US stores by 2026. While most of its expansion has been in the Northeast, the company plans to further expand into the Southern U.S., including Texas in the future.

Primark stores feature women’s, men’s and kids’ clothing and essentials as well as beauty, homeware and accessories. With denim starting at $10 and tee shirts at $4.50, the retailer is known for its budget prices.

“I’m so excited to be opening our first store in the state of Maryland and hope that shoppers in the DMV region will visit us and find their new go-to destination for this season’s styles at affordable prices that will delight even the most price-conscious shoppers,” said Kevin Tulip, President Primark US.
