The low cost fashion chain is continuing to expand its commercial network in Spain, intending to add eight new stores in the country in 2023 and 2024.
Primark intends to invest a total of 100M euros in the country, with plans already announced for a large 5,000sq m store to be located in La Vaguada Shopping Center in Madrid through an investment of 10 million euros.
According to Carlos Inacio, General Director of Primark in Spain and Portugal, the new establishment in Madrid will open its doors next year. This will be the chain’s second largest store in the capital and the fifth in the country as a whole.
Spain is Primark’s second market in terms of billing volume and with the eight stores that it will open over the next two years, it will reach 64 establishments. The brand’s new strategy for the market involves trialling smaller commercial formats; promoting its home category and introducing innovations such as self-payment boxes.
