The brand continues with its expansion in Spain, opening its 12th store in Andalusia and its 54th in the country in the Marbella La Cañada shopping centre.
The store itself spans two floors and has an area of around 4,000sq m, employing a hundred workers according to figures provided by the company. Primark intends to reach 57 stores in Spain in 2022, with openings this year in Bilbao, Vigo and Marbella and in San Sebastian, Madrid, Cadiz and Girona next year.
The Spanish market is the second biggest for Primark, both in terms of sales volume and total points of sale.
Economically, the brand registered a gradual recovery after the impact of the pandemic and in the third quarter of its fiscal year, posted sales of £1.6bn, a figure which is 207 per cent above the same period in 2020.
