In 2024, PSN will begin a two-year reconstruction of the famous functionalist building in the centre of Pardubice and the renovation is expected to cost €12.331M, PSN estimates.
The first republican Grand Hotel, which served as a shopping centre for over 20 years, will now be transformed into a modern shopping centre with full preservation of the original legacy of the architect Gočár.
In January 2024, PSN will begin the reconstruction of the Grand building in the centre of Pardubice, which was built at the turn of the 1920s and 1930s to a design by the renowned Czech architect Josef Gočár. On 31 December 2023, the listed palace will close for nearly two years, during which time only the Potrefená husa restaurant, the Grand Pharmacy and the Terranova shop in the adjacent building will be open. The design by the architects from the OVA studio is to restore the charm of the First Republic to the building while creating a modern shopping centre with an impressive atmosphere.
There will be over 4,000sq m of retail space, a large food hall with a modern design, several terraces and a co-working zone for 620sq m of creative offices. The planned investment in the renovation amounts to approximately CZK 300M. Many tenants, such as CineStar, Billa, drugstore dm and Potrefená husa, will return to the brand new Grand in a new concept. PSN has already started the construction of a new parking building with a total of 269 parking spaces, some of which will be used for visitors to the shopping centre.
The general contractor for both projects is a regional construction company from the Enteria holding group. The construction of the parking house is provided by the construction company Marhold, and the reconstruction of the Grand is provided by the association of companies Marhold and Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice.
