The Fairmont and Raffles hotels in Doha, Qatar have reopened after Tuesday’s evacuation of all guests, Arabian Business understands.
The two hotels, based in Katara Towers, evacuated all guests on Tuesday for reasons that have not been made clear. PR representatives from the two hotels and Accor, the hospitality group managing the upscale hotels, declined to respond to Arabian Business’ multiple requests for comment.
On Wednesday, the hotels shut down all their nine restaurants which included Fairmont’s Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Dome Fairmont Lounge, Provok Asian Project, Vaya! Latin Mercado as well as the Raffles’ L’Artisan, Alba by Enrico Crippa, Malaki, Acoustic Music Penthouse and Blue Cigar.
It was previously understood that bookings would only be able available after 7 August and most of the F&B outlets were categorised as “temporarily closed” on the hotels’ official websites on Wednesday. Fairmont and Raffles both have a combined occupancy of around 493 rooms and suites.
