The golf development, which is being designed by iconic golfer and course designer Jack Nicklaus, will feature a high-end hotel and spa alongside the course itself.
The course will be located just 40 minutes from Riyadh and is currently under design, awaiting the beginning of construction. The course will be designed by Jack and Nicklaus Design and is expected to be a key part of Qiddiya – Saudi Arabia’s capital of Entertainments, Sports and the Arts.
The championship course will be the heart of a private golf and country club, set within an exclusive residential community of Qiddiya and will be framed by the majestic Tuwaiq mountain range.
The planning of the course has been undertaken by Qiddiya in consultation with Golf Saudi. The Nicklaus-designed course is the centrepiece of what has been positioned as the most exclusive golf residential community in the Kingdom. Nicklaus commented: “I am excited by this project and my first golf course design in the Middle East. To be selected as one of the first international designers to work in the Kingdom is a great honour.”
It is expected that ground will be broken later this year.
