Quiksilver to Remain in Paris Until 26 June

Discovering exclusive Quiksilver archives is now possible at 44 rue du temple, in Paris. The cramped boutique, owned by the Boardriders group, is home to the Original Boardshort Company until 26 June.

Until then, boardshorts are, for the first time, given pride of place in the concept store, at halfway between the shop and the exhibition.

The store retraces the 54 years of existence of the surfing brand, from 1969 to today. To the tune of “Every time he comes around”, by Minnie Riperton, we learn that in the 1970s, “fit” was the priority in the work of Quiksilver teams.

In the 80s, we were inspired by horse riding and jockeys. Gradually, between 1980 and 1990, elastane replaced cotton and nylon, while surfing became more professional. Then the logo takes on importance, and the surfer lifestyle develops. During the 90s, Basquiat and Pop Art influenced the designs of board shorts and produced results such as Ghetto Dog or War Paint.
