Red Sea Project Set to Become Smart Destination

The Red Sea Project in Saudi Arabia will be a smart destination according to The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), featuring 52 smart devices.

By creating a smart destination, The Red Sea Project will become a flourishing community, promoting sustainability and enhancing the environment. TRSDC will embed state-of-the-art technology across the project to enable personalised visitor experiences whilst also providing frictionless customer experience and seamless project exploration.

Around 2,500 Internet of Things sensors will be positioned in the coral reefs, lagoons and turtle nesting sites at the Red Sea Project. These sensors will measure The Red Sea Development Company’s progress as it works towards its goal of a 30 per cent net enhancement of their environmental conservation value by 2040.

Alexandre Michael, User Interface Senior Manager at TRSDC, commented: “The commitment to create a joined-up experience for our guests that, most importantly protects these pristine vistas is what drives our desire to find solutions. We have 28,000sq k, an area the size of Belgium, across which we need to create a synchronous network, with islands, deserts, volcanoes and canyons all presenting unique landscape hurdles that we must overcome.”
