Retired British Airways 747 to be Converted into Museum & Cinema

The iconic British Airways plane will be turned into an museum and cinema in Gloucestershire.

Following the aircrafts final landing at the Cotswold Airport in Kemble, plans have been announced to convert the space to a museum and cinema that can be used for school visits, as well as business, conferences and private hire.

The retirement of the iconic planes was brought forward from the intended date of 2024 as a result of the impacts of the Coronavirus pandemic and the downturn in the travel industry. However, this new venture for the aircraft will create a new home and a new lease of life for the aircraft.

Suzannah Harvey, Chief Executive of Cotswold Airport commented: “ There is such a huge amount of interest in her as British Airways’ last commercially operated 747 and with the historic livery in which she is painted as well. We’ve got a very good support network building already which will help to main and preserve her for the future.”
