Called The Barking Lot, the café is the perfect location for dog owners to enjoy a cup of coffee with their beloved pets. The brand opened its first location in Saudi Arabia’s city of Khobar last year in June and given its popularity, a second branch has now opened in Riyadh.
The cafés serve both hot and cold drinks for humans and a dedicated boutique with food and treats for dogs completes the dining side of the concept. A grooming station where dogs and cats can be treated to a wash and blow-dry completes the services offered.
Owner Dalal Al-Sharhan, commented: “I decided to do a place for pet owners where they can have the freedom to enjoy time with their dogs. If you own a dog, you can’t go in the streets or public parks to walk them around or have fun with them. It’s really forbidden here and it’s against the law. I was very sad and decided to help by opening a coffee shop for people who have dogs – and even for those who do not.”
