A newly unveiled fifth floor at the Saks Fifth Avenue New York flagship will house the revived ‘Barneys at Saks’.
Barneys New York filed for bankruptcy in 2019 and was subsequently bought by Authentic Brands Group, who closed all remaining Barneys stores and licensed the brand’s intellectual property to Saks Fifth Avenue. The newly announced Barneys at Saks occupies a space of 54,000sq ft and will continue supporting and promoting emerging designers, as Barneys once did in the past.
“When conceptualising Barneys at Saks, we focused on three core pillars to bring the brand to life in a way that is relevant for today’s luxury consumer, while celebrating the spirt of Barneys New York – discovery, the unexpected, and fun,” commented Chief Merchant of Saks Fifth Avenue, Tracy Margolies.
The new Barney at Saks space is expected to house brands such as Fear of God and A-COLD-WALL* and this will also be the first time that men’s and women’s apparel will be presented on the same floor.
