Scalpers, through its Pirates for Good foundation and in collaboration with the Obra Social de la Orden Hospitalaria de San Juan de Dios, has opened its first social establishment on Calle Sagasta, 1 in Seville.
It is a space in
which Scalpers garments from previous seasons will be donated to users of the
San Juan de Dios Social Services Center in Seville. It is estimated that
some 200 families and 150 homeless people will participate in the service
offered by this initiative.
“This alliance will make it possible for both families in vulnerable situations
and homeless people to alleviate situations of basic needs in a fully normalised
context. Through textiles and a fully inclusive store experience, we favour
the recovery of autonomy and the participation of these people in their
communities”, in the words of Ignacio Romero, director of the Obra Social de
San Juan de Dios in Spain.
Founded in Seville in 2007, Scalpers currently has a network of 260 commercial spaces spread across Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Chile and Turkey and employs around 1,300 people. Although it was born focused on men’s fashion, the brand also includes women’s, children’s and home collections in its catalogue.
