The highly anticipated development has hit a major milestone with the groundbreaking of its first tower – featuring residential interiors designed by CetraRuddy.
Located next to the historic 30th Street Station in the University City neighborhood, this 570,000sq foot, 28-storey building is expected to form an anchor for Schuylkill Yards, the 14-acre, $3.5bn innovation neighbourhood developed by Brandywine Realty Trust in partnership with Drexel University.
Known as the West Tower and also by its address at 3025 JFK Boulevard, the building incorporates 326 luxury rental residences, along with 200,000sq ft of office and life science lab space, 29,000sq ft of indoor/outdoor amenities, and 9,000sq ft of retail. Its design architect is Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU), with HDR as executive architect, along with interior designer CetraRuddy, which also serves as architect of record for the building’s residential portion.
Individual units range in size from studios to duplex three-bedroom residences. All apartments feature unobstructed views and high-end finishes, and the duplex units offer private terraces. The amenity areas, located on the building’s ninth storey, offer opportunities for both passive and active entertainment including lounge, game room, conference, and co-working spaces, an upscale fitness centre, and a terrace with a pool, cabanas, grilling stations, and a large landscaped recreational area.
