Seasalt Hails Strong Christmas Performance

After in-store sales that broke records, the lifestyle clothing brand Seasalt saw its sales climb by 20 per cent in the run-up to the festive season.

For the five weeks to 1 January, the company’s sales were significantly improved upon those from 2019, with an increase of 33 per cent. Meanwhile the retailer itself announced that in-store sales increased by 81 per cent on the corresponding period in the year prior and online sales were also strong and accounted for 56 per cent of revenue.

Malcolm Macdonald, Seasalt Chief Financial Officer, said: “The strong store performance over Christmas is a continuation of the theme we have seen since they reopened in April. We are very happy with the balance the business now enjoys from its complementary mix of a strong store portfolio and marketplace partners supporting the direct to consumer online retail channel.”

Throughout the course of 2022 Seasalt will be looking forward to future expansion which will include growing its UK customer base, developing its menswear range and extending the business overseas.
