The iconic British department store brand has opened the pop-up space in its London Foodhall to showcase a range of exciting food industry talent.
Throughout the year, Selfridges will collaborate with a number of street food brands and chefs. Over the period, the vendors and chefs taking the spotlight will change. Initially taking centre state is Pabellón, a Venezuelan street food brand, which is offering guests a number of delicacies including Arepa, Sweet Potato Tempura and Pabellon – a traditional Venezuelan rice bowl.
This residency has taken different dietary requirements into consideration as dishes on the pop-up menu can be made vegan or vegetarian and everything is gluten free and is served in ‘sustainable packaging’.
Speaking on the opening, Selfridges Head of Food, Andrew Bird, commented: “The space has been designed to be a launch pad for new brands as well as a destination for the capital’s best street food and exciting chef collaborations.”
In line with government guidelines, the Pop-Up Kitchen at Selfridges will only operate a takeaway service during standard opening hours.
