This store is Shake Shack’s 15th location in South Korea and reflects a 25 per cent sales growth annually since the brand’s debut in the market in 2016.

Shake Shack’s Korean franchise operator, SPC Group has announced that a new branch for the American burger chain has now opened at Lotte Department Store in Nowon, North Eastern Seoul. Since opening its first outlet in Gangnam, Seoul in 2016, Shake Shack has recorded a consistently healthy 25 per cent growth in sales each year. Just one year after in 2017, Shake Shack’s stores in Gangnam and Cheongdam districts made it into the global top three Shake Shack stores in terms on sales, according to Danny Meyer, Founder of Shake Shack.

The American burger chain has remained unfazed despite the lasting impacts of the global pandemic. This can partly be attributed to its delivery service that was launched in late 2019.

In accordance with the brand’s high demand from local customers, SPC Group has been opening more than three Shake Shack locations each year. The group intends to open an additional 10 branches in the next five years to keep in line with the agreement initially made to open 25 outlets in Korea by the year 2025.
