The new department store will be located in the envisioned Suseo Station Transit Center Complex in Kora.
The Suseo Station Transit Center Complex Development Project intends to develop a 115,927sq m site around the SRT Suseo Station in the Gangnam district of Seoul, into a complex of commerce and businesses.
This is the second time the department store company is participating in a project that involves a train transit complex. In 2016, the company opened a department store branch at Dongdaegu Complex Transfer Center at Dongdaegu Station in Daegu. The newly envisioned store in Suseo, will operate in an area of 83,000sq m and will become the second largest department store after its Gangnam branch.
Cha Jeong-ho, Shinsegae Department Store Chief Executive Officer, commented: “This project holds the great potential to develop the southeast area of Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area as a regional hub. We will successfully launch a new landmark department store there with our knowhow in the retail industry and with our ‘innovative DNA.’
