Shopping Mall i12 Reopens in Singapore

The two-year renovation of i12 Katong, a six-storey shopping mall in Singapore, concluded last week with the grand opening of co-working spaces and tech-driven retail concepts.

More than 150 retail and food and beverage (F&B) establishments will gradually open in the mall, with more than 80 per cent of the tenants being newcomers.

Bistro Bytes, a fully automated storefront where customers can mix and match meals from a variety of F&B providers, is one of the new features and innovations. Customers may pick up their food from automated lockers a few minutes later.

The mall’s owners, Keppel Land, developed the Bistro Bytes technology, claim that it will give tenants more productivity and sales efficiency as well as the flexibility to quickly launch new brands and food items to match quickly shifting consumer preferences.

Core Clinic, a medical co-working space for practitioners with fully equipped clinic spaces and medical facilities, is now located in the mall as well. It is the first of its type in Singapore and gives doctors access to a medical concierge as well as the ability to reserve spaces when they are needed.

The reopening of i12 Katong is the result of a robust retail market that has exhibited indications of recovery since the Covid-19 epidemic and border restrictions were eased.
