Starbucks in China has predicted that sales will halve in the current quarter due to the coronavirus crisis. Sales at Starbucks stores dropped 78 percent year on year because of a sharp decline during the coronavirus outbreak. The coffee chain has temporarily closed most of its stores in China last month, with the main objective to protect both staff and customers.

“We remain confident in the strength of the Starbucks brand and the long-term profitability and growth potential of our business in China,” the company said in a statement.
