The Italian fashion brand has opened its first concept store in Singapore at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Mall.
The store opening marks Stone Island’s further expansion into the Southeast Asia market. The 114sq m store has been designed by Marc Buhre who is the industrial designer of all Stone Island flagships around the world. The store boasts a series of Stone Island and Stone Island Shadow Project collections.
Stone Island is considered as one of the most prominent men’s fashion brands and is often thought of in line with other brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga and Off-White. Last year, the brand made €240M in profits and was acquired by Moncler in December 2020 as part of a billion-dollar deal.
Founded in 1982 by Massimo Osti, Stone Island has become synonymous with high-quality products and the special ‘Tela Stella’ fabric, a heavily-stonewashed cloth which features different colours on each side. The brand has since used other many innovative jackets made of stainless steel Teflon fibres, colour-changing liquid crystals and reflective combination of a waterproof fabric with glass.
