Stussy Opens New Tokyo Store

The new store has been designed by studio Perron-Roettinger, and is located on a corner of the bustling Shibuya shopping district.

The location is the latest to join the brand’s worldwide Chapter network and was conceptualised and designed by studio Perron-Roettinger, which is also the company behind Stussy chapter destinations in Shanghai, Negoya and Kyoto. The new Tokyo store has a modest floor plan that is complete with a series of intimate spaces.

The black façade is contrasted with a store interior that incorporates industrial elements and organic décor including green timber panels, palm plants, built-in wooden shelves and ‘Tiki Totems.’ Meanwhile floor-to-ceiling windows allow pedestrians to see the store’s interior from outside.

Willo Perron, Founder of the design studio commented: “For the layout of this store we wanted to stay away from a linear floor plan and for people to always be met with different options on how to travel through the space. Despite the fact that it’s not a huge store, every time you come you can discover something different.”
