Taco Bell Launches New Concept

The new, innovative restaurant is called Taco Bell Defy and boasts a concept that will defy the norm and define the future for the fast food restaurant industry.

The restaurant will span an area of 3,000sq ft and will feature two storeys and four drive-thru lanes offering ‘the fastest way ever to get Taco Bell’ according to the restaurant. One of these lanes will be used as a traditional drive-thru lane whilst the other three are reserved for those who have ordered through the Taco Bell app or via a third-party delivery app.

The three drive-thru lanes for prior orders will provide an opportunity for customers to partake in the ‘fast, skip-the-line service’ via digital check-in screens. A unique QR code will be sent to the customer after placing their order and once this is scanned at the digital screens, customers can simply pull forward and pick up their food.

“This new, innovative concept breaking ground in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, will improve a major aspect of the consumer experience: drive-thru speed,” Aaron Engler, President of Border Foods, franchise partner for the brand said in a news release. “We’re partnering with Taco Bell and the best and brightest in technology and design to create what will very likely be the future of quick-service restaurants.”
