Following openings in London, Birmingham, Sheffield Bath, Brighton, Liverpool and Essex – Tapas Revolution has today revealed the opening date for its New restaurant in the North East. Tapas Revolution – known for exciting Spanish dining, vino and cervezas from its origins in Madrid / Barcelona – will bring the taste of Spain to the Metrocentre, marking its eleventh venue in Britain.
Diners in the region will also be the first to try Tapas Revolution’s brand-new menu, as the new location will be the first to launch a selection of new handmade dishes, which include plates for little ones, fantastic range of Sangria’s, Spanish beers and sparkling wine served from the Cava region of Spain.
To celebrate the grand opening, on Saturday 19th August, the first 100 die-hard fans to join will receive one complimentary dish to try from the main menu. One lucky diner will also receive a £100 voucher to use on their next visit to Tapas Revolution as part of their “Great Tapas Giveaway”. Tapas Revolution will host a launch party on 19th November with live Balearic performances to entertain those waiting in line from 10am.
The extensive menu from Tapas Revolution includes beloved classics such as Tortilla, Croquetas de Jamón, Calamari, Chorizo cooked in Asturian cider and freshly made Churros, as well as Castilian ewe’s milk cheese served with quince jelly, Crispy slow-cooked pork belly with a sweet and spicy sauce, and Crispy fried aubergine with a spiced honey and thyme dressing. There is also a range of Spanish-inspired vegan and vegetarian specials.

Tapas Revolution was founded in 2010 by celebrity chef Omar Allibhoy Cuende, there are currently 10 restaurants in cities across the UK, including London, Birmingham, Bath, Brighton and Liverpool. The restaurant serves up authentic Spanish food, inspired by traditional tapas bars from Spain.
Tapas Revolution in Gateshead will be located in the Upper Yellow Mall of the Qube in the Metrocentre where extensive work is underway to create a traditional Spanish tapas setting designed for sharing, socialising and eating.
The arrival of Tapas Revolution at the Metrocentre will create 25 new jobs and has had a six figure investment into the restaurant to sit up to 115 diners
