Tea WG expands store network in Hong Kong with boutique

Tea WG, a Singaporean luxury tea brand has now successfully expanded its footprint in Hong Kong by adding a fourth boutique, located at New Town Plaza, Sha Tin.

The luxury tea retailer opened two boutiques in Elements and Festival Walk last year, following the growing popularity that the brand received in the territory.

Tea WG has founded in 2008 by Maranda Barnes, Taha Bouqdib and Rith Aum-Stievenard. They conceptualised luxury tea rooms with over eight hundred different types of tea – which are loved by both tourists and locals alike. The brand developed a sommelier-training facility to help its staff build an extensive knowledge through tea-tastings, trainings and exams to better serve customers.

The brand has gained a diverse range of clientele in each of the global boutiques from which they operate, such as women enjoying an afternoon tea to a group of ladies called ‘tai tai’s’ (which translates to wealthy ladies of the house) all the way to millennials, who like nothing better than to snap a photograph of the event for Instagram.
