The project is being led by the High Line Co-Founder, Robert Hammond, who has joined the company as President and Chief Strategy Officer for Therme North America.
The attraction is set to launch after 2025 and the project is still in the early stages of planning, with a location search still yet to begin. The New York City development will adapt the usual layout to a vertical format and according to Hammond, much like the High Line, Therme “combines nature, community, wellbeing and art together in a similar way.”
A press release revealed that Hammond will be responsible for overseeing Therme’s expansion into the US and his role is scheduled to begin in April 2022. Initially, the company is targeting an initial group of major cities in the US as locations for its urban wellbeing resorts, which feature thermal bathing, meditation and water-based attractions alongside immersive art.
Therme revealed earlier this year that it would be building its first North American project at Toronto’s Ontario Place in Canada.
