Tiffany & Co. Opens Ginza Flagship

American luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co. has opened its renovated flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, three months after the reopening of its New York City destination, The Landmark.

WWD have reported Tiffany and Co.’s plans to continue its expansion in Japan, with the opening of another boutique in Omotesando, scheduled in early September. To celebrate the Ginza store’s grand opening, Tiffany & Co. commissioned artist Damien Hirst to create a striking ‘Sakura’ faceted facade, inspired by cherry blossoms.

Its current location at Ginza 2 Chrome opened in 2006, and went through a previous renovation in 2008.

The two-storey boutique, spanning 9,580sq ft of retail space, is housed in a building designed by esteemed Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who also designed the Louis Vuitton Japan offices on Midosuji street in Osaka.

Reimagined after the iconic Fifth Avenue flagship, the Ginza store is a showcase of jewellery and the brand’s heritage, complemented by cutting-edge architecture and design.
