Tiffany & Co. have announced the opening of its redesigned Toronto flagship in Yorkdale Shopping Centre, introducing the House’s latest design concept to Canadian shoppers.
Designed by the architecture firm SANAA, the store’s façade features 32,000 glass bricks framed in polished aluminium panels. The design, inspired by the concept of “diamonds in the rough”, symbolises Tiffany’s expertise in transforming raw diamonds into jewellery.
Upon entering the over 8,000sq ft space, visitors are welcomed by a custom light sculpture by architect Hugh Dutton, inspired by Canada’s national symbol, the maple leaf.
The installation illuminates Tiffany’s signature collections, including HardWear by Tiffany, T by Tiffany, Lock by Tiffany AND Knot by Tiffany, displayed in intricately crafted cases featuring nickel and rose gold legs with mother-of-pearl inlays.
The store’s design draws from Toronto’s architectural heritage, with elegant interior arches guiding clients through distinct rooms. A dedicated Tiffany High Jewelry space and Jean Schlumberger gallery showcase the brand’s most unique creations.
Completing the space is several artworks by renowned artists, including Tiffany Incredible by Damien Hirst, Repro: Musée d’Orsay (Rochefort’s Escape, after Manet) by Vik Muniz and Sho Shibuya’s Sunrise From a Small Window, a series of watercolour paintings featuring Tiffany Blue accents.
