The Canada-based coffee chain has opened its first two outlets in India, in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The brand’s first two stores are situated in the Select Citywalk Mall in New Dehli and the DLF CyberHub in Gurgaon, with both ranging in size from 1,500sq ft – 2,000sq ft.
“A cup of joe to-go on the way to work? Weekend coffee outing? we’ve got you covered for all scenarios! Canada’s most popular coffee store chain, Tim Hortons is now at your favorite high street, DLF CyberHub, Gurugram,” DLF Malls announced on its LinkedIn page the new addition to its food and retailing destination.
The brand comes to India through a franchisee agreement with AG Café, a joint venture entity that is owned by Apparel Group and Gateway Partners.
Alongside the India market, AG Café holds the master franchise rights for Tim Hortons for Bangladesh, and in the GCC with markets such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Last year, the company hired Navin Gurnaney, former head of Starbucks India, to spearhead Tim Hortons’ expansion across the country, with plans to open around 250 outlets in the next five to six years.
